Inspired by the octagonal-shaped writing pieces of the 1920s, with Egyptian engravings but with an up-to-date and modern writing experience, Montblanc shows us the Heritage Egyptomany Special Edition fountain pen. The cap of this model features hieroglyphics meaning "Montblanc", a 14-karat gold nib, special packaging and a beetle in its clip, a deified and worshipped animal that was especially associated with the god Khepri and the ability to self-regenerate. Its black colour is reminiscent of the first Montblanc fountain pens made of ebonite.
